The New Cachhar Road Transport Association has today agreed to postpone the proposed indefinite suspension of transport services of all passenger buses along the NH53 till tomorrow following an appeal by Zeliangrong Union, Tamenglong Region.
With its decision, services of passenger buses operating upto Tamenglong, Noney and Tupul will be available on November 29.The ZU, Zeliangrong Region has reportedly informed the association that it is trying to find a solution with those who have imposed the restriction on the Meitei passengers along NH-53 latest by tomorrow.
With this in view, the association took its decision to postpone its movement by a day.
The association however decided to stop all passenger bus services upto Tamenglong, Noney and Tupul from Thursday if a solution to the problem is not found by the time.
All the passenger buses for Imphal-Jiribam, Silchar shall not resume their services along the NH-53 till tomorrow.
However, only one passenger bus will be sent along the NH-39 for those who have urgencies, the association stated.
Around six passenger buses which have gone to Silchar and Jiriham via NH-39 after the imposition of the restriction are still at Jiribam and Silchar, it stated.
Inspite of the suspension of transport services along the NH-53 for the last many days, the State Government has not taken up any action till today.
Meanwhile the Federal Party of Manipur has appealed to the NSCN (IM) to withdraw its decision to restrict movements of passengers of Meitei community.
The Manipur State Council of All India Youth Federation (AIYF) has also appealed to the underground outfit to withdraw its decision.
